LearnRevitAPI May Disappear—What Should We Call It Next?

👋 Hi pyRevit Hackers,

The year has just started, but there are already some big things happening in Revit Community.

Yesterday, Nicolas from RevitPure has received an unusual gift from Autodesk - a Cease and Decease Letter, asking to delete his website...

And it's not just him. I've heard from other creators the same. Autodesk Lawyers has opened a hunting season, and it's more like friendly-fire. So, Nobody is safe (even LearnRevitAPI...).

I hope I won't need to delete my website any time soon, but we need to come up with a new name to be safe.

My opinion

Imagine promoting software and then receiving a letter from the company, asking you to delete your efforts...

A simple 'Thanks' would be enough I think.

Obviously, I'm biased since I own a 'LearnRevitAPI' domain (at least for now...). However, I think they are making a huge mistake for their branding and marketing.

Anyone who owns a software should be excited that there are people who dedicate a lot of their time and energy to create educational content around that software. Both Free and Paid.

It makes community much better, stronger, and most importantly, it helps user to navigate the software and become better.

Imagine Revit without all amazing courses, blogs, forums and resources out there? Yikes...

I hope they realize it too.

So, What's the New Name?

No idea yet...

To be honest, I wanted to change LearnRevitAPI for a while now, and I've even purchased another domain (pyRevitHackers.com). But that one isn't safe either...

So, we need something better and more secure.

At the moment the BIMHackers and BIMCoders are my favorite options, so I've already bought these domains.
But maybe, there is something better hiding in the plain sight?

My Alternatives were:
